Wet Wet Wet

I love this idea Jo and I think the name for the forum 'Broke Away' is just perfect, it means we could discuss any member of the band without the threads getting lost with everything else, great idea.

If we had this, we could then discuss Off Topic subjects in Chit Chat as Nico suggested, and the 'Fun & Games' forum could be kept for.........................................................fun and games. 

I just don't like the way it is at the moment, off topic being lumped in with fun and games, and if we move off topic to chit chat, then Marti is relegated to off topic discussions, really not right.

Maybe it was agreed to avoid singling out any particular member(s) which I can understand. However, what about a forum which covered all solo careers, for any member of the band. It could always be called Broke Away ! This could then cover some of the band members who participate in the production or songwriting world outwith the Wets, as well as catering for Marti's solo career. It could even still be lumped into the Wet Wet Wet section of the boards, as it's still band related.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this ?

Just a thought maybe we could have a forum for each of the 5 bands members,like we had on an unofficial forum site a while back, so that any solo stuff they do can be discussed there.Although this may give us too many forums so Jo's suggestion might work better

I was on a unexpected holiday to Turkye last week so just read this thread now.

Just to let you all know I already discussed this with Admin before this new forum got launched for each of the 5 members to have their own section on here. The problem they have with this is that ( obviousely and I totally agree) some guys would have loads of messages and others would hardely get any .

A solo section for Marti allone...as much as I love Marti  ( and GD plays with him solo aswell) I honestly think his solo web-site should have a section for that because its nothing to do with the Wets. This is just my opinion so don't hate me for being honest.

Admin did say they would think about a section for ALL the guys though and I think what Jo suggests is a better idea, I was also thinking our fans web-sites up dates could be put on there and they wouldn't get lost on other threads.

By the way....not wanting to change this subject but....GD wrote on his guestbook last week if anyone wants to have a look   .

Fair point, Wil, but I think Marti's official site was last updated in June to tell us that the Trentham Gardens gig was cancelled.  

I still like Jo's idea of a Broke Away forum for all the guys and I agree, fan website updates could be put on there.    

I have already seen GD's message, by the way.

I totally agree with this, and still feel strongly Marti should not be relegated to Chit Chat ('Off Topic') which is where we are meant to discuss him at the moment, as for Marti's website, its basically a waste of space, the front page might look nice but thats about all.

I have to say that I am with Laureen and Jo on this subject.  I think Jo's suggestion is a brilliant idea, a "broke away" section where we could talk about any solo things any member of the band may get up to, would be great. I have to say that I'm finding the new forum a bit confusing.  I'm not around much at the moment for lots of reasons, and as I've said before, I do feel a bit 'out of the loop' as it were.  However, there are a few people who are kindly keeping me up to speed on things I may need to know, i.e. announcements and things of that sort, and the one thing that I have found is that when I then try to look quickly on the Forum to read the latest news, I can't seem to navigate round the board that well in a hurry.  I appreciate that with time I'd get more used to it, but the point I'm making is that anyone who wanted to have a quick look and nothing else, would also find the same difficulty, and may even have trouble deciding which section to put a post in at the moment.

Anyway, enough from me - but if Jo's idea of "Broke away" could be adopted, then I think that would be good for the Forum and a nice simple folder to use.
