Helen-C: My point wasn't aimed at the awards themselves, and knowing what happened to the winner before I made my post, I most certainly would be left in no doubt that she, nor any others who were nominated for an award felt lucky, and having worked in jobs where I regularly came into contact with victims of crime and tragedy in many situations in the past I knew of the delicacy of the subject and they most certainly deserved to be honoured in the way they were, and treated to something special.
The point I was trying to make is by attending the event I think it's a wonderful thing the band did, and I can understand they may not wish to steal the limelight from the true stars of the show on such a special occastion, however I still don't see why every now and again, as fans, we can't be told about some of the good they are doing, or simply what they are doing.
I could go on a lot further here, but I won't - okay - that's my rant over.
Play nicely girls only joking! I know u meant not to attend the awards Helen. But I don't think Wet Wet Wet annouces to fans about any private functions. I know it be nice to know! I can't see Wet Wet Wet letting us know private functions. I hope I haven't offened anyone either about the gig being priavte, because I have a short message on my site regarding it being private and not open to fans.
