It was nice the way that Graeme took over answering that question for Marti, as Marti was definitely uncomfortable then

Yeah I think it was a bit out of order to put Marti in that position - it was pure obvious to be that's where Tim Lovejoy was going as well.

Totally agree.  Marti and Graeme make a great team!

Good to see the guys  - both looking good as well. Loved Marti's "hands on" aproach in the kitchen, my tealoaf could do with a stir as well...

How many times did the other guest say "frankly" - haha!

I wasn't that keen on the first part of the show, the interview was banale (imo) - the female presenter's questions were okay, but the guy's were just stupid. Well done Graeme for putting a better perspective on what was going to be an even more stupid interview - and getting the show moved on - that was great television - the interviewee taking control of the interviewer.

Loved the cooking part though - very funny, quick quips snappy cooking - I can't say coming from Yorkshire I've ever found Yorkshire Tea Loaf that interesting until now ......Big Smile ....... but made like that - made it so much more appetising, and Marti going for the biggest piece i.e. the rest of the loaf - with the tea towel hung out of his trouser pocket - on anyone else not a good look but on Marti - priceless.  I was rolling with laughing.

    Overall I enjoyed the programme.

Come tell me all about it!

I know what you mean. I think Tim Lovejoy wasted too much time with that other guest. This might sound a bit biased but who the hell was he - not as interesting as the Wets thats who he was!!

Continuing to stalk Neil up and down the M1. Baby! Oh yeah! Still watching Clarkey's gorgeous tight little bottom! Classic SSS saying -"See you in the toilets....5 minutes!"

I didn't find the other guest interesting at all! I think Marti and Graeme did a good job with regard to the Amy Winehouse question. I was busy making beds and cleaning rooms  whilst watching as well as dealing with a variety of comments from my hubby!!

I thought the cooking bit was really funny and Marti bagging the remainder of the tea loaf to take a bite out of! Classic!!

The guys were in great form today as always, i felt really awful for Marti he looked so unfortable when been asked about Amy Whitehouse drug problems, good for Graeme for stepping in, & giving the answer he did, that put the presenter in his place, loved  the cooking part & when Marti took a big chunk out the cake that was really funny my eyes really pop out of my heard, i really didn't aspected him to do itSmile

That was a really enjoyable morning with Marti and GC Big Smile. They both looked great and wonderful that GC stept in to help Marti there.

The cooking was so funny. I think you can see Marti does cook quite often when he put that tea towel in his trousers pocket and of course when he took that big bite out of the rest of that cake it had me lauging so much,  brilliant Big Smile.

Re: BBC2: 'Something for the Weekend' on Sunday 17th February at 10:00am

I thought it was really good, and agree with the comments about the questioning, they handled it well, but then they are pro's, well done guys. Yes

The cooking bit was funny too, although Simon Rimmer didn't seem aware Marti is tea-total these days, but Marti handled that tactfully too by just going along with it.  I was also really impressed the way Marti cracked the egg open with one hand, I can't for the life of me do that and I have been cooking for years, if I had tried that the egg would have just disintergrated and you would have had shell in the dish and the egg all over my hand, so well done to him. Big Smile

It was nice to hear Janet's mail get read out, but one thing that does annoy me about these programmes is that they encourage people to mail in with their questions, they were still asking people to mail during the show, then they don't allow enough time.  I know enough fans on here to know that they would have emailed the show and it can be a bit disappointing when they just read out one.  I feel they try to cram too much into these shows and it would be much more appreciated if they could concentrate on fewer guests and give them more time, it is a 90 minute programme, they could use that time better.  But overall, very enjoyable seeing them on a show like this, and again well done to Janet for getting her mail read out. Big Smile

Just one more thing I did notice at the end, not related to Marti and Graeme, but when they were in the kitchen, that presenter coughed into his hands, and was then immediately given the job of using his hands to spread the ingredients across the mackeral salad, not very hygenic and I am glad our boys weren't eating that dish. Ick!

Re: BBC2: 'Something for the Weekend' on Sunday 17th February at 10:00am

I completely agree with too much being crammed into shows - interviews annoy me because they ask the guys a question and then while they are answering they are ready with another question and they dont really listen to the answer. It makes me feel sorry for the guests when they have probably travelled to go on the show and they get a 5min slot of rushed questions fired at them and then "thats all we've got time for..." Glad that Marti & GC were on for the whole show though & agree that the guy who had travelled around wasn't very interesting & he was a bit too preachy for me. I thought the bit about the lighthouses was good though Big Smile
