hi folks
It's hard to believe that it's been almost 3 years since we started the band, and 2 years since the ferry gig... where has the time gone?
To keep you in the loop, most of us are still in touch, Paul and I play with Independence (www.independencemusic.co.uk), and are the resident band in Sammy Dow's on Nithesdale road in Glasgow every thursday night. Paul and Kenny Play with a rock covers band called AC blackhead (www.myspace.com/acblackhead), and are gigging regularly, also Tim and I played together at a charity gig last summer, this was 6 hour(!) extravaganza featuring acoustic and electric musicians from all over Glasgow, organised by Alan Stuart, and billed as 'The Biggest Pub Jam Session Ever', and it was great fun. a clip from the night can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXq2E_DnTms . The last time i saw Al D was at the wets gig in december, where we chatted for a few minutes, but i've not heard anything since.
As form me, I am still playing with speedtrap, but have decided to leave, which will probably happen in late july or august. The band's schedule for the last 3 years has been busy, and balancing this with each member having a full time job, and family commitments can make it difficult (add to this that i am one of the 900 employees at goldfish in cumbernauld who are facing redundancy later this year). although I have to politley disagree with the previous comment that stated PT's silence was related to Speedtrap's schedule; both bands were abe to exist in harmony when PT were active, even playing 2 gigs together. I won't go into why the band went silent, but if the opportunity for a reunion were to come along, i'd be interested to see what would happen.
As for the videos on youtube, i'll have a check and see if there are anymore, I think there might be one from the Deans South gig, but i don't remeber anything else being recorded, if i come across, i'll upload it. I'm fairly active (sometimes) on the web, and can be found on BEBO, myspace, and youtube under the username steviemgallacher.
