    Re: Newmarket Races?

    That's what I thought too!

Hopefully they will be back in 2009.

I hope some decent act goes to Newmarket this year as it is a great day out.  Saw Ronan in 2006 and the Wets last year.

It is also a good excuse to get the kids to stay with their grandparents while we have some time together.

    Re: Newmarket Races?

Boyzone are performing at the last Newmarket Nights in August.

I so wish it was the Wets again, but think I may get tickets for this as I think they will put on a fab show and Newmarket is a great venue.

I wonder who else is going to be on?

    Re: Newmarket Races?

Jools Holland now confirmed for 27th June.

That is not a surprise as he seems to be on every year.

Not my cup of tea but he is meant to be great.

That's disappointing news...but then we knew Marti would be busy with Witches.  Maybe next year !

    Hi All

Thats ashame its not Newmarket but Graeme and Marti do have something up their sleeve. Because they let it slip on the Five Thirty show on February 8th, something planned for the summer, so could be between June and July very unlikely August as Marti will be getting ready for Witches Of Eastwick for late August. It could be a small tour no-one knows until Wet Wet Wet actually announces.

So there will be somthing to look forward too with Wet Wet Wet. We all have to watch this space. We will have to to wait to all confirmed. Some of u may of heard also who ever watched  it.

    Love

    Karen-Marie xx

Looking forward to seieng what they have up their sleeve for the summer.

Girls Aloud now announced at Newmarket on 18th July.

There are 2 dates left in August.

Think I might get tickets for Boyzone in August as that hopefully won't clash with anything the Wets are doing as Marti will be tied up.

    Re: Newmarket Races?

Not sure if anyone is interested who is on at Newmarket now that we know The Wets are not this year, but as I have updated this thread so far with the acts as they are announced, so thought I would carry on!

The Feeling are now confirmed for 1st August.

Leaves one date left (8th August).

    Re: Newmarket Races?

    Thanks Debbie

My friend saw them last year (they were the only band that sold out before the actual day) and she said they were fantastic.

Not really my cup of tea though!

Fingers crossed the Wets might decide to do it next year as they were fab!!

    Re: Newmarket Races?

That's a bit strange as they were meant to be playing orginally, then got cancelled when Ali Campbell quit the band.

So I would have thought it would be without Ali (which I don't think will be quite the same some how, becuase to me he is UB40).

    Re: Newmarket Races?

I assumed that it meant UB40 with Maxi Priest as vocalist instead of Ali Campbell - although I could be wrong as I think Duncan Campbell, Ali's brother, has been officially announced as the new lead singer of UB40.

    Re: Newmarket Races?

I think Maxi Priest did a song with them years ago didn't he?  So I would have thought he might be there as a guest and if they have a new lead singer, that would make sense.

Thanks for letting us know Debbie about the new act.  Was thinking of going to see Boyzone this year, but have decided not to, unless I can find some cheap tickets on Ebay!

    Re: Newmarket Races?

I think UB40 have two new vocalists - Duncan Campbell and Maxi Priest.

Fingers crossed for the Wets for Newmarket next year.  Wink

Let's hope so!  It really was a great night with a fantastic atmosphere.

So if any of the lads are reading this - leave a space in your diary for next summer!
