I think you go to the website on your phone and put the code in where it asks...but Im not exactly sure how it works on all phones.

    Re: Downloads

    Hi JanetM

Is this one of the ringtones that were advertised in the leaflet that came with the Timeless CD?

If so, I will try and help.

Also, what phone do you have?

    Re: Downloads

Thanks for offering to help Karl,

It is the "Run" ringtone as advertised in the Timeless cd. My phone is a Motorola Razor, model RAZR V3I if that helps.

I received the web link for it but have no idea how to transfer from the computer to phone.

    Cheers

    Re: Downloads

    Hi JanetM

Unfortunately, the only Razors I am familar with are those I use on my chin Big Smile

However, I do know the RAZR V3I supports MP3 files so that is a start. When I sent for the "TMP" ringtone for my Nokia, I received a "Service" text that included a weblink to download the ringtone straight to my mobile. I didn't have to go to the internet on the computer, download it and transfer to the phone.

Are you sure you didn't receive something similar on your Motorola? If so, have you tried accessing the link or does it tell you you have to use a computer to access the link?

For what it is worth, the "TMP" ringtone is only 23 seconds long. Probably best to import "Run" into your computer from the CD, convert it to MP3 and then transfer to your phone. To transfer to your phone, you will need a cable (usually USB) to connect from the computer to your phone or get one of those USB Bluetooth dongles so you can send the file to your phone from the computer via Bluetooth.

Try the link below for instructions on "Sending and receiving files via Bluetooth on the Motorola RAZR V3i":

Setting up Bluetooth on the Motorola Razr V3i:

Not to sure about the connecting the Motorola to a PC via a cable, as you need a cable and the relevant driver software for the cable.

Let me know how you get on.

    Re: Downloads

    Hi Nicola and JanetM

If you can get onto other sites with your Motorola, I would send an email the following:

    'support@indie-mobile.com'

They are the ones that supply the ringtones.

    Re: Downloads

I have the same phone Janet, do you not just plug the phone into the computer with the USB lead provided?  Not really sure because I have never tried downloading a ringtone, I just converted my own files to MP3 and put it on my phone that way, I have a few Wets and Marti tracks saved on my phone so I can change the ringtone now and again.  If you have the ringtone downloaded to your computer I would have thought you could transfer it to the phone direct without accessing the internet on your actual phone, I hope that makes sense.

    Re: Downloads

    Hi,

Someone told me yesterday that because my phone is pay as you go I can't access the Internet which is just great! Sad Has anybody else heard that?? I would have thought that as long as you have credit on your phone then you should be able to access the Internet whether its pay as you go or contract. Hmm

    Re: Downloads

Hi Janet, yes its true - my old mobile was a T-Mobile Pay As You Go and I couldn't access the internet on it either. V annoying! My current T-Mobile phone is a contract phone and I've never had any problems connecting to the internet, obtaining downloads etc. Connection to the internet via a mobile phone can be v expensive per minute, so perhaps that's why it won't connect. If I was you I'd call Customer Services direct from your phone and see what they say. Good luck!

    Re: Downloads

Unless you have a contract that includes so many minutes of free WAP time within it, then by far the cheapest way to get your download would be via your computer, whereby you would just log onto the site, put in the reference number you were sent via text, and then transfer the tune to the PC.  If you do this using your phone, and are paying for the web time, then (as far as I know) on top of the £1.50 you are charged for the tune, you will receive a bill to the appropriate amount of web time you have used, and as Caroline says, to surf the net from a mobile phone is often costly, and, you can quite easily lose the connnection and you'd have to start again.  If you have a contract phone and have free WAP time then it won't cost you any more than the £1.50 charged to your phone for the tune.  I'm not 100% certain when it comes to PAYG but it may be that you can ring the service provider and ask them to enable WAP on your number.

It's pretty easy these days to get tunes from the computer to a mobile, either via a USB, or if you are really up-to-date and your computer and phone both have it fitted, via Bluetooth, by downloading it to the computer you can also put the tune you have paid for on a disc for backup.

    Good luck.

    Re: Downloads

    Hi Helen,

When you refer to log on to the site, which site do you mean as I have a http address which I was sent via text? I have put this in to my computer as a web address but it doesn't recognise it.

    Cheers
