    Chess - SPOILER

Well, last night was something else !

Chess is a musical with a difference & I was a little apprehensive at what to expect. However, I was soon engrossed in a fabulous mix of performing arts by an array of stars and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.

Although sat at the side of the arena floor we had ideal seats, almost identical to where I'd been for the Teenage Cancer Trust - Girls Night Out show. What was classed as 8th row turned out to be 2nd row which gave the most perfect view. They were every bit as good as I remembered if not better and almost made me feel part of the show.

Marti did himself very proud with some difficult yet unique songs which he mastered admirably despite a few sound problems initially. He was on stage for longer than I was expecting, which was a bonus & fitted perfectly into the company - in fact I could say 'just like a glove' !!Wink

The other stars who also deserve a mention are Josh Groban, Adam Pascal, Idina Menzel, Kerry Ellis, David Bedella & Clarke Peters who were also outstanding.

Every aspect of Chess had me in awe of the mass of talent in the show; the choir who actively & ably took part, the choreography, the band/orchestra, ensemble and each individual star who all obviously put everything into making a wonderful & spectacular event.

I heard many complimentary comments of Marti, amongst others, from fans of the musical and other artists when leaving the show.

It was an honour to be at such an amazing prestigious show in what is always such a classy venue.

Oh & good news, looks like a film crew were filming it for US TV & a potential DVD for release later in the year.

    Jo (& Helen C)

Is it just a dream?, or am I just a dreamer.
It's all in a dream ... but This Moment is OK

thanks for a great review Jo & Helen C. Yes

It's always good to get a wee up-date on events that I'm unable to attened myself.

I will look out for a DVD of this later in the year as you make it sound as if it will be really interesting and your input about other artists as well as Marti makes it  a must have for my collection.

glad to hear you both had great seats and a an even better night.

    Re: Chess - SPOILER

    Hi All

Big SmileI just got home 2.30am, as my mum and I missed 11.50 Virgin Train from Euston and never made it in time for 12.04am train neither so had to get 12.34am instead, which is a very slow Midland Train.Well try to meet Marti afterwards but there so many Josh Groban fans from the US, but those lucky girls from the US managed to get a cuddle from Marti, when he arrived I think just before 3.30pm as advised by Gina. My muim and I planned to go to Harrods and possibably go over to Bond Street if there were enough time. We left home @12.45 instead of 12.30, and reached Euston @ 14.11, but by the tine we caught the underground etc it were just after 2.30pm. Then my mum saidf lets try and see where the Royal Albert Hall is, because we couldn't remember. After we found it after 1 hour, then my mum said why don't we stop and stay, and see if we see Marti. I said okay and a chance to rest our feet. Then Gina and her mum arrived and Gina said Marti as gone in. Anyway after the show we stood for about almost half hour, then we decided to give up and left 11.25, because the underground would be closing soon I said to my mum. My mum said should stay over next time to avoid hassele. We did with Wembley back in December. But we decided to come back the same night. Anyway I took one pic of all them and u can see Marti in the pic. I will add onto my site later today, as it is too late to scan it onto the site. The show were lovely, Marti were in it a lot. But heard the sound weren't too good on the opening night. But it wer brilliant tonight. My mum thought Marti looked very handsome and well relaxed in Chess. My mum can't wait to go to see Marti in Witches Of Eastwick Northampton. My mum is talking about staying over her treat so that we both can drink. Well nite nite! www.thewetswebsite.piczo.com Love Karen-Marie xx --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
