More reviews on this site.....including a few who are not very complimentary about Marti's performance 

From what I've read it seems that a lot of people are commenting about the high ticket prices and the very poor sound quality - (mainly on the Monday night) they got for their money  It is interesting to see one of the 'soloists' has given their perspective on the show.......

LOL - well you know me - the bigger the better!!  I'm not sure that was even the same day - there weren't any press type photographers running backwards down the street at the time I was there anyway.  Mmm there's a thought, maybe I should become a freelance photographer - now where would I begin job hunting for that work.  (That is a joke btw).

Just came across this on Youtube.  Sadly no pictures - but it's one of the songs Marti had the main part to play - if you can imagine quite a few of the cast were on stage, and, from what I can remember, the dancers moving around the Chess board - this was the opening of the show - you'll hear the operatic nature of the show - and if you stick with it to the end you'll hear Marti introducing the game - in his English accent - it's the way he says the "Soviet Union" that's the most plummy.

Thanks for finding it for us Helen. It sounded amazing, abit like the stuff he did with Lesley Garrett.  I wouldn't have immediately known it was Marti singing and the English accent, what can I say!    He's obviously been practicing hard Terry
