Wet Wet Wet

Just got a hold of a Promo, of this CD.

On first hearing, I'm sure i'm gonna like it.

On one of the tracks called "The Other Man", Chris sings about a friend..

Marti maybe?

I'm playin' the album again, and when I get to the "The Other Man" track, I'll try and listen hard to the actual lyrics, to see if we are on to something here.

Sorry, I now don't think it's about Marti. I think it could be about Glenn Tilbrook, (Chris's songwriting partner in Squeeze) but who knows

Track 2, "Battersea Boys", is a very poignant track, all about Chris's brother Leslie, who so sadly died, at the relatively young age of 59, just over a year ago (9th Feb.'07

Mark, Chris' take on this song is that it is about Adultury and there is always another man, or woman involved, I don't think it is about any one person in particular.    I think its always easy to make assumptions that songs are about people close to them, and often they are, especially his family ones about his brother , his children and his parents, but quite often they are totally unrelated and an idea just springs into their mind.

Its a great album and one well worth getting.
